My name is Josh Ford, founder and head trainer, and I’m proud to offer professional dog training focused on aggression, reactivity, and calm behavior in Auburn, Indiana and surrounding areas.
Together with my wife, Marillyn, we run Deliverance K-9 as a family-owned, home-based business. Our approach combines structure, trust, and leadership to help dogs overcome fear, anxiety, and behavioral challenges—while building harmony between dogs and their owners.
In addition, every training experience is built on compassion and clear communication, ensuring that both dog and owner feel confident every step of the way.
Our Facility and Training Environment
Our newly renovated, climate-controlled kennel and training facility are located on our property in Auburn.
This setup allows for:
-Constant supervision and one-on-one attention
-A structured daily routine for training, exercise, and calm rest
-Exposure to real-world situations throughout town to reinforce obedience and build confidence
Because training happens in a home environment rather than a commercial facility, dogs experience both comfort and structure, creating the ideal setting for behavior modification and obedience work.
As a result, they learn to remain calm and focused even in new or distracting situations.
Our Story
Our journey began over ten years ago as my wife and I welcomed six amazing dogs into our lives over time—two of them rescues. Through each of them, we faced a wide range of behavior challenges, including separation anxiety, fear, hyperactivity, dog reactivity, and resource guarding.
While we enjoyed countless joyful moments, some of these behaviors made everyday life challenging. Eventually, I realized that to truly help our dogs, I needed to understand the root causes behind their actions and learn how to guide them effectively. That realization sparked my passion for professional dog training and behavioral transformation.
Becoming a Professional Trainer
Determined to make a lasting change, I earned my Certification in Behavioral and Obedience Training from Conifer Canine College and completed specialized courses in:
-Reactive and aggressive dogs
-Rescue dog rehabilitation
-Puppy foundation training
-Resource guarding prevention
Moreover, continued education gave me the knowledge, tools, and hands-on experience to address complex behavioral challenges and teach dogs calm, reliable obedience—even in high-distraction environments.
Today, I apply those same proven methods to help families across Northeast Indiana regain control and rebuild relationships with their dogs.
